St. Andrew's School Saint Andrew's School was founded by the Parish of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church. The first classes began in September 1961, with single sections of Kindergarten and First Grade, with subsequent grades to Grade 8 were added each year. Saint Andrew's School, pre-school through Grade 8, today serves 450 students from over 15 communities in the South Bay and Peninsula Area. The role of Saint Andrew's School is to develop as fully as possible the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and social capacities of each student. The School strives to achieve this purpose through instruction in basic academic skills, by providing opportunity for the child to understand his relationship to God, through participation in physical education programs, games, and sports, and by encouraging the student to develop a sense of personal responsibility as a member of society and a member of the Saint Andrew's School community. We are convinced that a parish day school community provides an optimal learning environment within a Christian perspective for a child's full development, respect, and concern for others. The School values a community of students, teachers, parents, and friends, devoted to lifelong excellence in learning and service. Students are accepted on the basis of ability to achieve without regard to race, creed, ethnic or national background. The School is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
