The day after our barbecue my dad ran in the Alice Springs marathon. I'll let him tell you more about it.

This was a real experience! There were only nineteen runners in the marathon, and I did not see another runner ahead of me or behind me after the eleventh mile. I felt very alone out there, but the scenery was great and the race organizers did a fantastic job. I came in twelfth, which is as close to first place as I will ever get in a marathon! My finish time was just under four hours, 21 minutes.
